Misr Company for pharmaceuticals was founded in 1939 as the first Egyptian company for the pharmaceutical production of human and veterinary drugs, and it was totally financed by a pure Egyptian capital through the contribution of "Misr Bank " that was established by the Great Egyptian economist "Talaat Pasha Harb"to be the first nucleus for developing the national projects and for the creationof an Egyptian industry to compete against the foreign goods that were controlling the Egyptian and Arab Markets at that time. In 1956, the company had established a new facility at Matariya area in accordance to the latest industrial system requirements and was provided with the latest machinery automation needed for the establishment of modern pharmaceutical industry. The company played a very important national role in providing the Egyptian army with its medicinal needs during the several wars carried out by Egypt besides fulfilling its national duty by providing medicinal demands for all the Arab and African countries. Misr is an owned state Company and one of the affiliated companies to Holdipharma company. And to help the company to continue its successful history initiated by the Egyptian leaders,it was decided to demolish its main headquarter in Matariya andgo through a complete renovation and modernization by the establishment of a new factory at Abu Zaabal district outside the densely populated area and in accordance to the latest GMP requirements and to be able to applythe international quality standards witha fully equipped production lines. Misr Company is uniquely characterized by the existence of a dedicated manufacturing line for the production of penicillins (β-lactam antibiotics) with all its dosage forms to serve most of pharmaceutical companies as a toll manufacturer for this specialized production. Misr company also owes a modernized well-equipped sterile areas built in accordance to the highest level of quality to manufacture ampoules, drops, sterile eye ointments and specialized surgical ampoules like morphine and pethidine ,that are produced with complete control to ensure the quality and safety and with affordable price. Misr Company as a core company started to export its pharmaceutical products since the forties of the last century that waswidely created as a good distinguished reputation in the Arab and African pharmaceutical market.
